May Movie Nights

Oregon Wine Month

This May, in celebration of Oregon Wine Month, we’re pressing pause on our usual Coppola Movie Night series to feature a special lineup of wine-focused films. These selections highlight the quirks, charm, and occasional chaos of the wine world—stories that feel right at home at Domaine Lumineux.

We’ve always believed wine and film are two of the most powerful forms of storytelling. Both invite us to slow down, connect, and savor the experience.

Join us for a month of great wine, good company, and films that capture the spirit of the season.

Sideways

Friday, May 9th, 6:00pm

Widely considered one of the most iconic wine films of all time, Sideways follows two friends on a weeklong road trip through California wine country. Miles, a struggling writer and Pinot Noir devotee, and Jack, a soon-to-be-married actor, set out for one last bachelor adventure—but things quickly spiral into a blend of comedy, chaos, and unexpected self-discovery.

Directed by Alexander Payne and starring Paul Giamatti, Thomas Haden Church, Sandra Oh, and Virginia Madsen, Sideways earned an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and two Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Bottle Shock

Friday, april 23rd, 6:00pm

Set in the 1970s and inspired by real events, Bottle Shock tells the story of the unlikely rise of California wine on the world stage. When a British wine shop owner organizes a blind tasting in Paris—pitting French wines against bottles from the then-unknown Napa Valley—the results send shockwaves through the industry.

Starring Alan Rickman, Bill Pullman, and Chris Pine, the film captures the scrappy determination, eccentric personalities, and rebellious spirit that helped reshape the global wine narrative.
