The 2022 growing season allowed for steady ripening across the vineyard, with warm, even conditions through summer and a dry, temperate window leading into harvest. This extended period supported the development of both concentration and structure while preserving natural balance.
Built from a focused selection of blocks, the Reserve reflects a deliberate approach to blending. In 2022, Clone 943 plays a more prominent role, contributing depth, concentration, and a subtle savory character. It is supported by the vineyard’s oldest plantings of Clone 114, grown on steep, shallow soils, which provides dark fruit characteristics and an edge of spice. Clone 115 from Block E is incorporated to bring lift and aromatic clarity, adding dimension to the final blend.
Together, these components form a wine that is composed, structured, and built to age gracefully.
Tasting notes
Spiced and savory, the 2022 Reserve Pinot Noir opens with black cherry, pomegranate, cedar, dried herbs, and hints of clove, licorice, and forest earth. Medium-to-full bodied with a supple, mouth-filling texture, it layers vivid red fruit with subtle barrel notes of café au lait and coffee. The finish is warming, earthy, and persistent.
