The 2022 growing season began with generous rainfall and warm spring temperatures, encouraging early bud break across the Willamette Valley. A rare April frost slowed development, followed by a warm and steady summer and an extended, dry fall that allowed for slow, even ripening. These conditions produced fruit with bright natural acidity and clarity, well-suited to preserving freshness in white wines.
This Pinot Gris comes entirely from Block I in the Dundee Hills, and was fermented entirely in stainless steel to preserve freshness and precision while allowing the fruit to remain the focus.
Tasting Notes
The 2022 Pinot Gris opens with bright citrus peel and green apple, supported by notes of honeydew, pear, and soft honeysuckle. The palate is vivid and textural, with crisp orchard fruit, lively acidity, and a firm mineral backbone. Subtle herbaceous tones and a refreshing tart finish keep the wine lifted.
