Description
Vintage Notes
The 2019 growing season began cool and wet before shifting to warmer conditions through mid to late summer. Rain during August and September slowed ripening, allowing the fruit to retain freshness while developing moderate sugar levels and natural acidity. The result is a vintage defined by balance, structure, and liveliness.
Crafted from a blend of blocks across the Dundee Hills vineyard—Block F (Clone 667), Block E (Clone 115), Block G (Pommard and Clone 777), and Block B (Clone 114)—this wine brings together a range of clonal and site expressions. Clone 777 provides structure and balance, 667 contributes lifted aromatics and bright red fruit, and Pommard adds depth and richness. As a cuvée, this wine reflects the interplay of these elements, resulting in a layered and integrated expression of the vintage.
Tasting nOtes
The 2019 Cuvée Pinot Noir opens with earthy aromatics of damp soil layered with anise and black pepper. The palate shows dark red fruit, with cranberry, raspberry, and currant alongside deeper notes of black licorice. The finish is structured and persistent, carrying both freshness and depth.
