Description
vintage notes
The 2022 growing season began with early bud break, followed by a severe April frost that delayed development and shifted the season later than expected. The vines recovered well, and warm, dry conditions through harvest allowed for extended ripening, bringing both concentration and natural acidity into balance.
This Dundee Hills Chardonnay comes from Block I, a three-acre parcel at approximately 750 feet in elevation. Fermented in barrel and aged for 10 months with full malolactic fermentation and lees stirring, the wine develops texture and depth while maintaining a focused, fresh profile.
tasting notes
The 2022 Chardonnay opens with lifted aromas of lemon, pear, and golden apple, layered with jasmine and a touch of wet stone. The palate is medium-bodied and precise, with fresh orchard fruit carried through a rounded, silky texture. Full malolactic fermentation lends gentle creaminess, while a subtle mineral edge keeps the wine lively through a clean, persistent finish.
