April Lineup
April’s selections center on the idea that growing up is complicated. Through two distinct perspectives, The Virgin Suicides and The Outsiders explore adolescence, identity, and the moments that shape how we understand the world around us.

The Virgin Suicides
April 10, Doors open at 6pm
“The Virgin Suicides” is a 1999 psychological drama written and directed by Sofia Coppola, based on the novel by Jeffrey Eugenides. Set in a 1970s Detroit suburb, it follows five Lisbon sisters whose lives become the focus of neighborhood boys watching from a distance as the girls grow increasingly isolated under strict parents. Told in hindsight, the film centers on memory and perspective rather than clear answers. Starring Kirsten Dunst alongside James Woods and Kathleen Turner, with a score by Air.

The Outsiders
april 24, Doors open at 6pm
“The Outsiders,” directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the novel by S. E. Hinton, is a 1983 coming-of-age drama set in 1960s Oklahoma, following a group of teenagers navigating the divide between the Greasers and the Socs. Told through the perspective of Ponyboy Curtis, the film centers on friendship, loyalty, and identity. Featuring early performances from C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, and Tom Cruise.
“What made the event unique was Dawn’s research and knowledge about the film, the production, and the directors/producers… If you’re looking for a new idea for date night, Domaine Lumineux takes movie night to the next level.”
