After a summer pause, Coppola Movie Nights are back this October—just in time for the season’s darker edge.
We’re turning to the shadows, with Coppola’s gothic imagination on display: romance tangled with dread, the supernatural rendered with haunting elegance. Less about sudden frights and more about atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to embrace the eerie beauty of autumn.
Bram Stoker’s Dracula
Friday, October 10th, 6:30pm
Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), Francis Ford Coppola’s lush and operatic retelling of the classic vampire tale. Adapted from Stoker’s 1897 novel, the film follows the centuries-long pursuit of love and power as Count Dracula leaves his Transylvanian castle for Victorian London, where obsession, romance, and terror intertwine.
Sumptuously designed and visually extravagant, the film is as much a gothic love story as it is a tale of horror—renowned for its elaborate costumes, practical effects, and evocative atmosphere. Winner of three Academy Awards, it stands as one of Coppola’s most distinctive works, embodying both dread and dark beauty in equal measure.
