Description
Vintage Notes
The 2022 growing season began with ample rainfall and warm spring conditions, encouraging early bud break. A rare April frost briefly slowed vine development and led to lower yields, followed by a warm, steady summer. As harvest approached, dry and temperate weather allowed for an extended ripening period, giving the fruit time to develop both concentration and balance while retaining natural acidity.
Harvest entirely from Block G, a lower-elevation site with deeper soils and strong afternoon sun exposure. As part of our single-clone series, this bottling highlights the intensity of Pommard in this section of the vineyard, where early ripening conditions and vigorous growth produce deeply colored wines with concentrated fruit and fine tannins.
Tasting Notes
The 2022 Pommard Clone opens with warm aromas of cranberry, cherry, and citrus peel layered with dried botanicals and earthy spice. The palate is bright and refreshing, where ripe red fruit meets a gentle structure and a hint of forest pine. It is an approachable, grounded wine with a smooth finish and subtle notes of barrel spice.
