Vintage Notes
Heavy rains in April of 2021 impacted pollination in the vineyard and resulted in a relatively light fruit crop. This was followed by record-setting heat and consistently dry conditions, which proved beneficial for optimal grape ripening. The combination of low yield and ample warmth produced wines of exceptional balance, intensity, and grace in the Willamette Valley.
The dry summer encouraged healthy berry dehydration, naturally lowering pH and raising Brix, resulting in concentrated flavor, tannin, and color. This concentration allowed the wine to support more new oak while still allowing the fruit to shine through.
